FLEETit is going TO Iceland
Iceland: Back to the North
Hello friends,
One day I asked myself, what if there is a different way to travel? What if we can go somewhere not by yacht, but some other means?

You know how it goes. Once you've asked, you get the answer. There is no way back. So now we are going to Iceland. We will be using yachts, land yachts. Some people call them RVs!

Let's explore this magical country. We will see a couple of waterfalls almost every day. We will discover geysers. Walk on a glacier. Take a look at a volcano crater. And of course, of course we will spend a bunch of time in thermal springs!

Here is the link to photos of our previous Iceland week.

Let's Rock & Roll
Day 1
Reykjavik
Getting to Reykjavik. Renting RVs. Buying all we need for the trip. Getting to know each other. It's going to be a wonderful week together.
Reykjanesbær
Driving ourselves to Reykjanesbær in order to greet the best sunset in the country. Let's spend the night here.
Day 2
Gullfoss Falls
This waterfall is 30 meters tall. The amount of water falling down is 109 cubic meters per second. It is 109 ton of water every second. The math is boring, but the view is great.
Geysir
The tallest geyser in the world. I haven't seen any geysers before. So why not start with the tallest one?
Eyjafjallajokull
Volcano Eyjafjallajokull. This volcano is located at the foot of the glacier. You probably remember that in 2010 many flights over Europe had been canceled because of its activity. Now you will have a whole lot more things to remember it by.
Seljalandsfoss
Seljalandsfoss waterfalls. This waterfall is 60 meters tall. It is a part of the river that starts from the volcano glacier we visit earlier on the trip. One of the more interesting things about this waterfall is that visitors can walk behind it into a small cave. For a rear, I mean rare view.
Skogafoss
Skogafoss waterfall. Also 60 meters tall, but way more powerful than the last waterfall. And there is no way to get behind it. But hey, the scenery alone is worth it.
Vik
Let's put our camp here for a beautiful view of the Reynisdrangar cliffs. It should be a spectacular scene to behold both at sunset and sunrise.
Day 3
Ice lagoon
We will rent a small motor boat and ride between the icebergs here. A boat ride on ice. Stirred, not shaken.
Black beach
Let's spend the night here on the beach, watching the view on the Vestrahorn rocks. The sand is volcanic, that's why its black. And I don't know how to further describe it. It must be one of those places that you should just see, not talk about it.
Day 4
Hengifoss waterfall
While heading to Hengifoss waterfall we will cross the greenest fjord in Iceland. Waterfalls continue to get taller. This one is 128 meters. I hope the next one is not 256..
Dettifoss
The most powerful waterfall in Europe is here. It is 100 meters wide, and it amasses 193 cubic meters of water per second. Pretty impressive.
Myvatn
Finally thermal springs! Wooohooo! Big, 10 x 8 km, blue lake with plenty of fish and thermal springs around it. It's insanely beautiful! Another exclamation mark!
Day 5
Grjotagja
It's an underground sauna. Finally, the water temperature falls below 50 degrees and we can bathe in it. Also, yes, it is a real lava cave.
Hverfjall
So it s a real volcano crater. Nothing too crazy. Just a REAL. VOLCANO. CRATER.
Akureyri
Let's have a stroll around the biggest city in this part of Iceland. It's going to be a good doze of civilization after all of our thermal/glacier/geyser/waterfall adventures in the wilderness.
Hvitserkur
We will spend the night on the ocean shore with a view to the rock Hvitserkur. This rock looks like an elephant. You probably wouldn't believe, but once I have looked for it in Thailand. There is supposed to be something like that there too.
Day 6
Reykholt
The world's biggest thermal spring. Hot bathing again. Love it!
Day 7
Reykjavik
More Reykjavik sightseeing. In Reykjanesbær we can surf in the close-to-zero temperatures. Then a goodbye party on the shore.
Day 8
Reykjavik
Everyone has their flights at different times, so we will probably spend this day just checking out from the RVs and dropping our friends at the airport.
