FLEETit sails to greece
Cyclades: Grand Santorini
Hey there!

We've been to Cyclades islands 3 times already. Every time it was a real adventure. I mean the different one. And every time we go the routing and timing was becoming better and better. During the last trip we realized that we got the thing: when do sailing to Cyclades the yacht should be big, because passages are pretty long, and waves can get big, there should be a captain and at least one competent crew, which is useful for night sailing. What is really wrong and unsatisfying in our trip, it is short. I mean really, one week for Cyclades archipelago? No way. So this time we do FOUR WEEKS. 28 DAYS. ONE MONTH. One month to discover Cyclades islands. We sail all the way to legendary Santorini for two weeks, stay there 4 days, and sail back through different route. Basically we do a big Cyclades circle.

Yeah, I know guys, you do not take a month off at your office. So there are two chapters: 2 weeks Athens - Santorini, and 2 weeks back.

I said something about big boat? Oh yes, I have just called to a charter company for Bavaria 56 Cruiser and Bavaria 55 Cruiser. Yes, those are the ones having garage for dinghy;)

Welcome on board, sailors, adventurers, free souls!

Let's Rock & Roll
"Athens - Mykonos - Santorini"
Day 1
We meet in the city were civilization takes its beginning many years ago. And as ancient sailors did for a thousands years, we buy goods, load them to the ship, and leave the shore for new adventures and discoveries.
We expect everyone by 17:00 to be in marina or even earlier, so we can leave to the closest island, and spend the night where the freedom is.
Day 2
Really nice island. It is know for its temples and pistachios. The best would be to rent a car or some other transport, and research it for a day. Lets buy as much pistachios as we can, so it last till Santorini.
Day 3
This would be our last Saronic island on the way to Cyclades archipelago. This one is good for both beaches and tavernas hangout. Also really nice views form the top of the city.
Day 4
Ag. Georgios.
We wouldn't stop here. Probably wouldn't even anchor. The point I mention this place at all is that there is nothing located here. It is absolutely empty. No even a plant. Only huge 90 meters tall wind turbines. And they worth an effort to come by and take a selfie)
Kythnos, Kolona.
A good place for sunbathing and swimming.
Kythnos, Merichas.
This small fishermen town is perfect to spend a night after a big day. Also sunsets here are just gorgeous.
Day 5
Day 6
Kythnos, Loutra.
This is a small fishermen town that is know by its hot springs and feta cheese omelet.
Day 7
Syros, Ermoupolis.
This is the Capital of Cyclades archipelago. There used to be an ancient civilization, which was separate from Greek. You can easily tell the difference in architecture. All Cyclades look a bit Turkish, while Ermoupolis looks Italian.
Day 8-9
They call it Greek Ibiza. And that sounds about right once you get here. A lot of beach clubs. Weird crowd in the streets. It all combined with authentic architecture and good shopping makes it impossible to stay just one day. So we will stay for two days to get a better feeling of Mykonos.
Ancient city located on a separate island. Official population is 14 person. It used to be a big trade post, there is no any economy source on an island. So now it is basically whole big city as it used to be thousands years ago.
Day 10
As it always happens on Cyclades, this island is known for it's archeological sites, and beaches. Let's rent some scooters and explore the territory.
Day 11
Island that used to be ruled by its own ancient civilization. Has a lot of archeological sites to tell its great history and a lot of wars it used to see from 3000 BC till 1800 th.
Day 12
I am wondering if they have taken the name for that Apple operation system from this island. Who knows. Surprisingly this island is known by Its night life. Like one more Mykonos. I think we can take more parties, aren't we?
Day 13-14
The time has come! We reach our destination. All beautiful sunsets, sightseeing, party on our way here was something to make us ready for two days of Santorini. Our great first chapter is about to end, and we will remember this adventure all our life.

"Santorini - Milos - Athens"
Day 1-2
If you came just for the second chapter, you will find it cool to spend first two days exploring Santorini and getting used to living onboard. For the those who came for two chapters, this is an opportunity to dive deeper into local culture as you spend 4 days on an island!
Day 3
Small and quite island is good opportunity to rest after all the party and adventure. Also known by its wines, so let's do some shopping here.
Day 4
This island is definitely made for sunset watching, quite walks, picturesque photoshoots. It is away from tourist crowds, and it gives us a lot of opportunities to learn local authenticity.
Day 5-7
Milos is an island we are trying to reach for years. You will see it yourself. White beaches, white rocks in the middle of the sea.
Kayaking through local white caves is a must! We will spend one day learning this new activity.
Lets drop the anchor in a place like that at least once.
Day 8
This is the island for a nice hike to get views of classy Cycladian monasteries and panoramas. Also there is a castle on the south east part of the island, lets have a ride there.
Day 9
Very quite island away from tourists crowd. We do some trekking and rest on a crystal beaches.
Day 10
Dokos has quite lagoon with no sign of civilization. A good idea for a rest after 62 nm passage before we go to legendary Hydra island.
Day 11
Legendary Hydra island. The legend says: best captains in Greece come from Hydra. You will understand why once we pass into the harbor. The town itself looks incredible. This is a nice example of building on a limited surface. There is also a reason for some hiking - monastery on the top of the mountain. The view over Saronic archipelago can be seen there. A big part of entertainment here are tavernas, and million of cats around them)
Day 12
The name is pretty easy to get once you smell the air around the city. It stinks! It is known for its thermal springs.
Day 13-14
We are back to where the story has begun. Let's do some more sightseeing, and have a rest before the flight.
Today is a flight day. Thank for a great adventure! See you again on the next destinations!
