You have surely heard about Loch Ness. Probably more about its legendary creature. But not so much of its castles, distilleries, and beautiful hiking opportunities. And even less likely that you thought about sailing there! But here we go.

This adventure is about Caledonian canal, which connects south-west and north-east parts of Scotland. This time we will sail a motor boat with no open seas. No winds no waves. For a change.

Price includes: place on the yacht, captain service, bed sheets and towels.

- flight.
- travel spends (food, fuel, marina fees, cleaning) – under 500 €;
- charter company will keep 500 € per person deposit while we are using the yacht. They will kindly pay it back once we return the yacht.
- transfers, hotels, and excursions for the land part of the journey. Airbnb in Edinburgh and Fort Williams is about 30-40 euros per night. Transfer from Edinburg to Fort William is around 45 euros.
- historical train ride is around 40 euros.
We always buy products in the onshore supermarket. Also there are a lot of tavernas with local products. And of course whiskey!

Why to choose this adventure?
Day 1-2
One hour from Glasgow airport we find ourselves in an ancient city. Spending here two days. Exploring castles, pubs and distilleries.
Day 3
Hogwarts Express.
After done with Edinburgh, Scottish train system will easily bring us to Fort William. Here we are getting to Hogwarts Express train. The one that Harry Potter used to get himself to the school.
This is real steam train. It operates from 1930s. It's path goes through really beautiful places of the Highlands.
Day 4
A small village on Caledonian Canal. Here we check into our yachts and get ready for a sailing part of our trip.
Nice small village with about one hundred people of population. It is located on the lake Loch Lochy, with a view to Ben Nevis mountain, and surrounded with beech forests. Perfect opportunity for hiking.
Day 5
This small town is a birthplace for Saint Patrick. We will go to the top of Ben Nevis mountain, and visit legendary Ben Nevis distillery.
Day 6
Invergarry Castle.
Here we drop our anchor right next to the old castle of Invengarry. Our plan for today is researching of its old ruins.
Day 7
Fort Augustus.
Situated on the shores of the world famous Loch Ness, Fort Augustus is nestled right in the centre of the stunning scenery of the Great Glen, which stretches from the east to the west coast of Scotland. The fort, and and the village, were named after King George II's younger son, Prince William Augustus. Today we walk through this historical town.
Day 8
Loch Ness.
Starting from Fort Augustus in the morning, we spend most of the day cruising waters of the Loch Ness.
Inverness is a compact and historic city, which is easy to explore. Enjoy beautiful views from the castle and riverbank and indulge in a spot of retail therapy in the old town or at the new Eastgate complex.
Day 9
Castle Urquhart.
Here is one more castle where we can anchor right next to it. Lets have an evening walk here, and nice dinner in the pub.
Day 10
We are back to Laggan village. This is time for check out from the yacht, and head to Glasgow for our flight.
